Brandon Flowers clashed with his producer when they first worked together.
The Killers frontman's second solo album, which is set to be released next year, will be produced by Ariel Rechtshaid and the star admits the pair are "on a roll" despite initially struggling to get along together in a working environment.
He explained: "[Ariel] will try other ways of doing things and that's something I've never really done. At first we were butting our heads together, but now we're hitting it off. We're on a roll now."
Brandon has hinted fans can expect some different styles on his follow up to 2010's 'Flamingo' as Ariel has taken some of his songs and made several changes to how they would usually sound.
The 33-year-old rocker added to NME magazine: "He's taking me out of my comfort zone. Normally I make demos and they're pretty similar to how the song ends up.
"But he'll take a song and be like, 'I hear this.' It's incredible - his palette and his range, what he's able to say."
