Beck has spoken out about his upcoming album release, explaining the influences behind it and when fans should expect to hear new music.

Speaking to ROQ, Beck says that the album is “forthcoming” and will actually be released “very soon”.
He added of the delays with the record: “This record was supposed to come out over the last year, and then I’ve been touring and doing a million other things.”
He also said about the content of the LP: “It’s a summer night, people have their hands up. It’s a communal, celebratory thing. I wanted to take that into the studio, a kind of energy or joy. The thing that wakes you up a little bit.”
Also speaking to NME about the collection, he explained: “This record has felt like a lot of freedom, as I’ve had time to work things out and try things. I’ll go too far in one direction, then go too far in another. There were a few other ideas that have come out of making this record that are interesting and have pushed me in other directions.”
