Ariana Grande's new music is more "edgy".
The 22-year-old singer has revealed she is trying a new angle for her latest tracks but still thinks it is important to "stay true to who you are".
She said: "My new music has a bit of an edge to it and I've been having fun incorporating that into my style.
"For the Grammys we really wanted to do something classic with that edge - I loved the Ramona Keveza gown I wore! I think it is important to stay true to who you are and pick things that you really really love."
The 'Break Free' hitmaker also praised her fans, insisting she would be "nothing" without them.
She added to Miss Vogue magazine: "I am just really excited about making music that I love and that my fans love. I mean, without my fans I'd be nothing!
"They are the most supportive and loving fans. I like to be able to connect with them and share my life with them."
Meanwhile, Ariana previously revealed her new album is an "evolution".
She explained: "It's my best album yet. It's like an evolution. It's like a progression and it feels very me, but it feels like a more evolved version. It's a little more forward."
