Ariana Grande’s smash hit single ‘One More Time’ has topped the British iTunes chart overnight, with the song now set to re-enter the Official Chart Top 40 this week in the wake of the terrorist attack in Manchester at the Manchester Arena following her concert on Monday night.
Climbing from outside the Top 200 to Number 35 in today’s Official Charts Company sales flash, the song is being bought by some of the singer’s fans in memory of the victims of the attack, which killed 22 people. The song originally peaked at Number 24 back in June 2015 during its initial release, taken from Grande’s 2014 album ‘My Everything’.
‘One Last Time’ will receive its official placing on the chart this week when the Official Chart Top 100 begins on Friday, May 26 at 5.45pm on OfficialCharts, com with Greg James running down the Top 40 from 4pm on Friday, on BBC Radio 1’s Official Chart.
Grande meanwhile has cancelled six of her tour dates following the attack, including two that were to take place at London’s O2 Arena tonight (May 25) and tomorrow (May 26). Though she’s currently set to resume the tour in Zurich, Switzerland on June 5, this could of course all change.
