After the announcement of her seventh solo album 'Nostalgia', Annie Lennox has now offered a first listen to some of the tracks on offer in a trailer premiering today on newly launched nostalgia.annielennox.com.
The website itself is an online companion for the LP, featuring song histories, photography and art work for the songs, as well as videos and expanded song descriptions by Lennox herself.
New content will continue to be added to the site on a regular basis in the lead-up to release.
'Nostalgia' is produced by Lennox and frequent collaborator Mike Stevens. A collection of 12 tracks, the album sees the singer-songwriter take on classic American compositions that still hold ground in the present day.
“I went deeper because, for me, the origin of these songs is the blues. Blues comes from something beautiful and painful – and it’s the mixture of the two things. And that’s an area that I know very well,” Lennox explains. “I thought, if I’m going to try this, I’m going to get right to the nub of the song. You commune with the song and if the melody is speaking back to you, it guides you into where you need to go with it.”
Instant Grat track 'I Put A Spell On You' premiered on Radio 2 today, and is now available through iTunes.
'Nostalgia' is to be released on October 27 through Island Records.
