Famed musical composer Andrew Lloyd Webber has this week revealed how he could have signed Barbadian pop sensation Rihanna before Jay Z had the opportunity, with Webber claiming he saw the singer performing in a hotel in Barbados 12 years ago.
Speaking on Good Morning Britain, he explained: "I turned to my friend and said, 'She's very good'. I wondered if we brought her back, it might be like a picture you buy on holiday and then you get home and think, why did I buy that?
"I thought I might get her home and then wonder what to do with her. It's not something I'm proud of."
Despite not being signed by Webber, Rihanna's career has seen her flourish and sell over 200 million records across the globe.
She's also managed to grab eight Grammy Awards, but unfortunately she wasn't nominated for any accolades at all for next year's Grammy event.
Though fans tried to pit her against the most-nominated artist - Beyonce - she wrote: "I wish y'all would drop this topic and see things from the bigger picture!
"We don't need to be putting black women against each other! We deserve to be celebrated, and the Grammy Academy agrees!"
