André 3000 is recording new music alongside acting in ABC Drama 'American Crime'.
The Outkast singer-turned-actor recently collaborated with former lover Erykah Badu - who he has 18-year-old son Seven Sirius Benjamin with - on her track 'Hello', but says he's dying to put out his own material because shooting TV and film projects sends him "fiending to do music".
Asked if he's had time to work on music, he said: "I still get time to think about music. [Shooting TV and film projects] is not so bad - it kind of puts you in the place where you're fiending to do music. I've been holding [back] for a long time, so now I'm really interested in figuring out some type of music to do. I'm always recording."
The 'Hey Ya' crooner is keeping quiet about who he's been working with in the studio, but teased that he'd like to release music of some capacity at some point in the future.
He told Billboard magazine: "I can't say that I have a target right now. I've gotten in trouble before for saying when or what is coming, so I like to just kind of let it be. I'd like to put out some kind of music project, but we'll see."
The 40-year-old star's former lover Erykah - who he dated for four years from 1995 to 1999 - was the girlfriend who inspired Outkast's biggest hit 'Ms. Jackson' and André can be heard rapping on their latest single 'Hello' which the pair reunited specially for.
