Whitney Houston

With great disappointment, Whitney Houston has postponed her first three concerts in the UK due to illness.

The shows affected are her two concerts in Manchester this Thursday and Friday (8 and 9 April) at the Manchester Evening News Arena and her show in Glasgow on Sunday (11 April) at the S.E.C.C.

All three dates have been rescheduled. Glasgow now takes place on Saturday 1 May whilst the Manchester dates will take place at the end of the tour on Wednesday 16 and Thursday 17 June.

Doctors visited Whitney late last night in Paris and confirmed that she was suffering from an upper respiratory infection. Upon medical advice Whitney has been advised that she cannot perform to allow her time to recover.

Whitney’s Nothing But Love show is packed with some of her greatest hits including ‘Saving All My Love’ and ‘Its Not Right (But Its OK)’, as well as her more recent hits including the top 3 smash hit ‘Million Dollar Bill’ from her current critically acclaimed album, ‘I Look to You’. ‘I Look To You’ is Whitney’s fastest selling album in the UK, and has already sold over 2.5 million copies. The show uses a brand new never seen before production from Baz Halpin, who created shows for artists including Pink and Tina Turner.

Only last month Whitney had said how excited she was to be performing again in the UK after her eleven year absence and was looking forward to performing new songs as well as crowd favourites.

Concert promoters Marshall Arts have asked ticket holders for Manchester and Glasgow to retain their tickets which will remain valid.

Those unable to make the rescheduled shows should apply to their point of ticket purchase for their refund.
