U2 currently on world tour
U2 ended the U.S. leg of their world tour with a poignant tribute to an old friend in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Tuesday night.
Frontman Bono closed the show by playing fan favourite Bad for Andy Rowen - his childhood neighbour in Dublin, Ireland, and for whom he originally wrote the song.
Rowen surprised the singer before the show when he turned up backstage with his actor pal Declan Joyce.
Joyce tells WENN: "We were very grateful to Bono for the night."
At the end of their set, Bono returned to the microphone and said: "This is for... a very special man, who is here in your city, who grew up on Cedarwood Road. We wrote this song about him and we play it for him tonight," before launching into the U2 classic.
And Rowen was overwhelmed by the dedication, telling WENN: "I was truly knocked out. What a wonderful man!"
U2 will wrap up their 360 tour in Canada on Saturday.
