The star has reached out to the troubled teen and offered up his services to help get her career back on track once she completes her stint in rehab.
The singer/actress pulled out of the Jonas Brothers' world tour in October and checked herself into a treatment centre to address undisclosed emotional and physical issues.
She is still thought to be receiving treatment but Timbaland has recorded a video message addressed to the 18 year old, expressing his support for the star.
In the clip, posted on YouTube, Timbaland says, "Demi, I'm so ... I'm sitting here looking. Man, I'm just like, 'Wow.' You are amazing, girl.
"I'm kind of funny. I'm very hard to please, and I'm just not an easy person to please, so I'm very impressed. I'm very impressed. I got to hear you sing some of your songs, and I'm like, 'Wow.'"
He also revealled he's been hard at work on her comeback song, which he previews in the video.
He explains: "I'm going to play a song that we did just for you. It ain't finished... I'm playing a song just for you, only for you. Are you ready? It goes something like this. I wrote this for you."
