Called ‘Stop Giving Me Verses’, the single will be available to download from iTunes Monday 16 August, and more widely available from Monday 23 August.
Sony Music will make a donation of ten pence from each lawful download sold of “Stop Giving Me Verses” before 30th September 2010 to Teenage Cancer Trust, the charity dedicated to improving the lives of young people with cancer, with Sony Music committing to a minimum donation of one thousand pounds (£1,000) from such sales.
To create the track, the band asked fans to send in extra verses written for the current single “Choices”. Twenty two winning entries have been chosen and added to the track, making the finished version forty minutes long. The winning fan’s photographs will appear in the video as their verse is sung by the band, as well as appearing on the sleeve of the download release.
