An American study has found that the track Staying Alive could help you to perform CPR correctly. The University of Illinois medical school study found that the track is 103 beats per minute which is close to the recommended rate of 100 compressions per minute.Dr David Matlock who led the study had students perform CPR on mannequins whilst listening to the song. They were asked five weeks later to do it without music but whilst thinking about the songs beat.He found that the song and the beat stuck in their heads, which made their compression rates fit within the acceptable range of 100 per minute. The American Heart Association has also said that they use Staying Alive as a training tip gor CPR instructors.FemaleFirst - Kate Teasdale
