The Beastie Boys are set to encourage U.S. fans to "get out and vote" on 4 November by performing for them. The trio is heading out on a short tour with guests including Sheryl Crow, Jack Johnson and Tenacious D in the coming weeks. The gigs are aimed solely at urging fans to make the effort to vote for a new President. In a statement released on Friday, announcing the Get Out and Vote tour, the group said, "This election is too important to stay at home. We hope that you can come out, have a nice night, dance, sing, get your freak on, and then wake up the next morning and get everyone that you possibly can to get out and vote."But they're not holding back about who they'll be voting for: "We are very excited about Barack Obama. Hope you all feel the same."The dates will be confirmed on the group's official website.
