Sly Stone is determined to kick his drink and drug addictions once and for all after checking into a rehab facility.
The veteran singer, who is currently homeless and living out of a van, is desperate to change his fortunes and claims he's ready to get clean and get back to making music.
He tells TMZ.com he has been clean for 'about a week and a half' and now he's getting serious about rehab.
He says: "I've got a rehab (centre) that I've chosed, that I'm gonna go (to)."
Stone is confident he can overcome his addictions, but he fears that a return to a recording studio may cause him to slip back into his old habits.
He says: "If there's no problem with my music and not drinking beer or those type of things, or anything, then it'll be fine. But if I want to have a beer..."
