Slipknot are not responsible for a slaying in South Africa, which left a teenage student dead.Locals in Krugersdorp have been quick to blame 18-year-old Morne Harmse's devotion to all things Slipknot for his brutal attack on 16-year-old Jacques Pretorius on Monday .Friends and fellow students of the murderer, who killed Pertorius with a sword before attacking two Nick Diederichs High School gardeners, claim the teen was obsessed with the rock band, their imagery and music.Harmse reportedly wore a handmade mask similar to the one Taylor wears in videos and onstage, and has other masks resembling those worn by the singer's bandmates at home.Taylor tells Blender magazine that the local community leaders who are, in part, blaming Slipknot for the tragedy are being ridiculous. He says, "Obviously, I'm disturbed by the fact that people were hurt and someone died. As far as my responsibility for that goes, it stops there. You have something like this happen, it could have been Marilyn Manson, it could have been any number of people who make art that is startling visually, on the darker side. It could've been Pat Boone, for Christ's sake."At the end of the day, there are always going to be mental disorders and people who cause violence for no other reason than the fact that they're f**ked up and lost. And all we can do is try to learn from it."
