Sir Paul McCartney and wife Nancy Shevell on their wedding day

Sir Paul McCartney is set to share the song he wrote for his new wife Nancy Shevell with fans by including the tune on his upcoming album.

The Beatles legend married the American heiress in London in October and serenaded his bride at the reception with a track written in her honour.

The song, entitled My Valentine, includes the lyrics: "And I will love her, for life/ And I will never let a day go by/ Without remembering, the reasons why/ She makes me certain, that I can fly."

Fans will get to hear the track on his new album, which is set for release in February.

McCartney tells BBC Radio 6 Music: "There's one song on there called My Valentine, which just kind of popped out and wrote itself almost, and I thought 'that's nice'."

The star also insists his nuptials were the highlight of the last 12 months, telling The Sun: "2011 has been a pretty special year. Well, I got married, so that's got to be the most memorable moment."
