On Monday, news outlets Down Under claimed the veteran rocker had been admitted to hospital after suffering the attack, three days before he was due to hit the stage with Damon Albarn's animated group in Sydney.
A Gorillaz spokesperson has shot down the rumours, insisting 54-year-old Simonon is "fine" and the reports are false.
He is expected to join the Clint Eastwood hitmakers as scheduled at their next gig at the Sydney Entertainment Centre on Thursday.
