Reporter Defends Tupac Allegations....

The reporter who linked Sean 'Diddy' Combs to a gun attack on late rapper Tupac Shakur has refused to back down over the claims - insisting the story was factually correct. The Los Angeles Times ran an article on Monday (17Mar08) claiming the music mogul's former manager, Czar Entertainment Ceo Jimmy 'Henchman' Rosemond was involved in a plan to ambush Shakur at a New York Recording studio in 1994.Both Combs and Rosemond have hit back at the allegations - denying any involvement in the attack which saw Shakur shot five times, two years before he was murdered in Las Vegas. No one was ever charged in connection with the shooting, which was believed to have started a "gang war" which eventually resulted in Shakur's death.Chuck Phillips, the journalist who wrote the story, also penned an article linking late rapper and Combs' protege Notorious B.I.G. to Shakur's death in 1996 - a claim which has also been vehemently denied by Rosemond, who slated the story as full of "false information".But Phillips is standing by his claims, insisting his research was accurate. He says, "I try to go and find people who are directly involved or know people who are involved in the actual crime. I work the same as police do except I'm not a cop so people are not afraid to talk to me because I'm not going to arrest them."I deal with a lot of criminals in my work and I treat them with respect and I'm very secret about the information I gather from individuals and anybody that I work with. There are some dangerous people who I work with, but their information is safe with me".Rosemond has since threatened legal action against the publication.
