Pink Floyd's legendary Animals album cover was recreated yesterday in London as an inflatable pig was flown over the city's iconic Battersea Power Station.
The 1977 cover art featured a giant pig floating over the derelict structure and the scene was recreated to mark the release of the band's 14 remastered albums, but organisers had to use a replica as the original pig was found to be leaky.
A spokesperson tells the Press Association: "Sadly, two weeks prior to the event the original neoprene glued pig was officially declared not airworthy and a brand new high-frequency welded PVC replica Pink Floyd pig has been made for the occasion."
Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason adds: "I think the pig now has more Air Miles than I do..."
The original pig hit headlines during the 1976 photoshoot when it broke free and floated into the flight path for London's Heathrow Airport.
