Rockers Pink Floyd have been presented with one of the most prestigious music prizes in Sweden by the country's King Carl XVI Gustaf.The band was honoured with the 2008 Polar Music Prize for their contribution to popular music, alongside American opera star Renee Fleming, who also received the award at the Stockholm Concert Hall on Tuesday.Frontman Roger Waters and drummer Nick Mason were at the ceremony, and received a standing ovation as they accepted the gong.And Waters dedicated the award to his 96-year-old mother, saying: "If there is any humanity and empathy in my work, which I think there is, I would rather owe it to her."Swedish Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt said the British rock band had made "a monumental contribution... and captured the mood and spirit of a whole generation in their reflections and attitudes."The winners each received a prize of one million Swedish krona (£86,300).
