Pete Doherty has spoken out for the first time since he was released from prison, admitting he's had a "rotten few months".
The British singer/songwriter was jailed for six months in May (11) after he admitted possessing cocaine, and he was released last month (Jul11) with a monitoring tag on his ankle.
He has kept a low profile since being freed, but he played a gig in Stoke, England on Wednesday (24Aug11) as a warm-up for his sets at the Reading and Leeds festivals this weekend (27-28Aug11).
Doherty later admitted the show was "shambolic" and he's now reached out to fans to tell of his "relief" at his early release from jail.
In a post on his blog, the rocker writes, "The first outing since the sentencing, prison, tag, sequence that just ended... although the sods haven't yet removed the actual tag... So I was bound to be a little bit, er, rusty?...
"The gig was shambolic and I was at something of a loss... just playing songs as people shouted them out... but even so, I can't tell you the sense of relief now I'm finally free to crack on with my (life).
“It's been a rotten old few months and I dont mind admitting it. Deep sigh."
