Farrell Slams Navarro's Talent Show....
Rocker Perry Farrell has hit out at his former bandmate Dave Navarro's role as a judge on TV talent show Rockstar Supernova - insisting "music isn't a competition".Farrell hates the way music is used for reality TV shows, and isn't impressed with his former Jane's Addiction pal's involvement in the Cbs programme.He tells Mojo, "Music isn't a competition - it's about expressing yourself.There are no awards at Lollapalooza; it's just 130 different acts sharing a stage".Meanwhile in other news the eco-friendly rocker Perry Farrell split Jane'S Addiction in 2004 because the band was bad for the environment.The singer claims the group's lifestyle conflicted with his desire to become more environmentally-friendly.He explains, "I look at the band like I look at the Industrial Revolution: it started out great and then turned into something polluted and unhealthy.Suffice to say I had people in my group driving Hummer Suvs when I was writing songs advocating hydrogen energy. Not ideal".
