Lawyers for Spanish superstar PAULINA RUBIO are seeking to ban reporters from attending her manager's court deposition on Thursday (09 Jun 11) as she testifies in an ongoing breach of contract dispute.
The Latina superstar is facing a pending court case in Miami after locally-based CMG Entertainment sued Rubio for not showing up for a concert they had booked in Tunja, Colombia.
The singer is being sued by bosses at Miami, Florida firm CMG Entertainment over allegations she failed to honour an agreement to play a concert in Tunja, Colombia. The lawsuit, filed last year (10), seeks over $985,000 (£615,625) in damages.
Her manager, Marya Meyer, is due to appear in a Miami court to testify on the star's behalf on Thursday, but Rubio fears the case will spark a media frenzy and damage her reputation.
Her lawyers have requested a closed hearing and a judge will rule on the motion on Thursday morning, before the deposition later that afternoon.
