Dolly Parton has claimed she will refuse to take up a judging role on a reality TV show, as she would hate to ruin the dreams of others.
The Jolene hitmaker admits she has been approached to sit on the panel for several different TV projects, but turned all of the job offers down.
Parton insists she is too sensitive to dole out criticism on a programme like Simon Cowell's upcoming American show The X Factor.
Speaking on Britain's Lorraine TV show she says, "I have been asked to do different things like that (The X Factor). I wouldn't because I couldn't judge people. I'm too tender-hearted because I know those people are serious - no matter how bad some of them are.
"I know they wouldn't be there if they didn't think they were good and it would break my heart to say something (negative). If I saw that look on somebody's face if I said 'You're not good enough' I wouldn't sleep a wink. So I'd rather not (do the) job. But I love Simon Cowell."
