Ny To Perform With Plan B At Eden Sessions

Up and coming north London R ’n’ B singer Ny will be the special guest for Plan B’s sell-out Eden Session on Friday July 6.

Ny’s forthcoming debut album, Who Is She?, has so far spawned two singles, Music and Be With You, featuring London rapper Giggs.

Her work is a statement on the highs and lows that have seen her go from helping out behind the scenes at club nights to making mix-tapes with Plan B and Professor Green, and from teaching under-privileged kids how to sing to touring with her best friend Tulisa and N-Dubz.

Bebe Black, a singer from Dorset with a voice reminiscent of Adele and Amy Winehouse, will also be on the bill for the show at Cornwall’s Eden Project. Bebe’s distinctive vocal is the centrepiece of dubstep superstar Benga’s single Icon. She is recording her debut album that will be released early next year.

During the day of the show on Mediterranean Biome’s Biotik Stage, the programme will be curated by Nowhereisland. The artwork, a floating Arctic island by Alex Hartley, has caught the world’s imagination and inspired more than 6,400 people to sign up to become citizens of the world’s newest nation.

Nowhereisland will host a programme of talks from the island’s Resident Thinkers and the spontaneous pop-up talk show the Talkaoke Table will be welcomed back for another year. Cape Farewell will be presenting a performance created through their Sea Voyage project.

On the Stage Right Stage, Cornwall’s premier pop princess Rosie Vanier, formerly of Rosie and the Goldbug, will be playing. The stage will also feature sets from Aaron Douglas and DJ Dante.

Complimenting main stage sets from Blink-182 and Crowns at the Eden Session on Sunday July 8, will be Devon hardcore band The Computers, Cornish pop-punk heroes Bangers, surf-punk pioneers The Black Tambourines and the riotous sounds of The Jellycats, all of whom will be playing the Stage Right Stage.

On July 11 for the Session co-headlined by Noah and the Whale and The Vaccines, the Biotik Stage will be curated by Manchester Aid for Kosovo and headlined by The Travelling Band. The group’s blend of cosmic-country pop, psychedelia, vocal harmonies and nu-folk has made them one of the most talked about acts to emerge from the Manchester music scene.

Determined young singer Karima Francis and electro project Silverclub will also be playing, while rapper Gideon Conn and urban poet and blues musician Stefan Melbourne complete the line-up.

The Stage Right Stage will feature sets from Roco, Matthew & Me and Little Leagues.
