Willie Nelson won't have to perform in a Texas court, as had been suggested, and will instead be fined for his charge of marijuana possession.
A Hudspeth County prosecutor suggested the country star should perform his song Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain to resolve his charges, but Judge Becky Dean-Walker told the Associated Press that the idea was just a joke that "got out of hand".
The Texan Judge had previously said the star would not get off lightly: "Just because he's a star, I don't think he should receive any special treatment."
Nelson will be able to plead guilty and pay a small fine without appearing in court.
The singer-songwriter was arrested in November when a Border Patrol agent smelled marijuana during a routine search of the singer's tour bus.
