Fleetwood Mac star Stevie Nicks has said she will never become a mother because it would hamper her "complete freedom".
Nicks has been married once, to her longtime friend Kim Anderson, but they divorced in the 1980s after just months of marriage and the singer remains childless.
The 62-year-old star's close friend Sheryl Crow became a parent at the age of 46 when she adopted son Wyatt in 2007 and she took on another son, Levi James, last year.
And Nicks is adamant that seeing her friend dealing with parenthood has just made her more determined not to have children of her own.
Speaking to The Guardian, she said: "I want to have complete freedom. Sheryl does not have complete freedom now. She doesn't! But that's what she wanted. She wanted a baby. And I have a Yorkie Chinese crested dog. I'm happy with that."
Nicks has had a successful career with the long-running rock band Fleetwood Mac, which she joined in 1975.
