My Chemical Romance star Gerard Way has plans to transform his award-winning comic strip into a movie.The rocker, 31, published his first set of comics when he was just 16 and relaunched his career as an author last year by releasing The Umbrella Academy.Way triumphed at the comic publishing industry's top prize ceremony - the Eisner Awards - in July taking home the gong for Best Limited Series.The success of the graphic novels, which follow the adventures of a family of superheroes, has caught the eye of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban director Alfonso Cuaron.But Way isn't getting his hopes up about the possible big-screen venture just yet, even though he is adamant his stories are perfect for a movie.He tells Sci-Fi magazine SFX, "He's (Cuaron) the only director who has the material at the moment. If we get the right people in place, it could be really amazing, but I'm trying not to think about it too much. I'm keeping my head focused on the comics."I would prefer people to read the comic first as a point of reference before any film comes out. But the first story is really compact with a beginning, a middle and an end so you could easily make that into a film."
