The much-anticipated debut single “Summer Rain” and self-titled debut album by Matthew Morrison will be released by Mercury Records on May 30th 2011. Fans will also get to see the ‘Glee’ star in action on his first ever UK tour, kicking off in June 2011.
Performing at prestigious venues in Glasgow, Manchester,Birmingham, Brighton and London, Matthew will be showcasing tracks from his hotly anticipated self-titled album, plus a variety of ‘mash ups’ from popular ‘Glee’ songs.
The single, “Summer Rain” was co-written by Matthew with Claude Kelly (Bruno Mars, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera) and the Norwegian duo known as Espionage, who produced the track in New York City.
“Summer Rain” is the first track from Morrison’s upcoming debut album, which features duets with the legendary Sir Elton John and Academy Award winner Gwyneth Paltrow. The self-entitled album ‘Matthew Morrison’ is launched following the global success of Glee and Matthew’s role as Glee club leader, Will Schuester.

Matthew is no stranger to musical theatre, vocal performance and dance, which he studied at New York University’s renowned Tisch School of the Arts. His first big Broadway break came as heartthrob Link Larkin in the hit Hairspray. Matthew was later nominatedfor a Tony Award for his role in The Light in the Piazza.
