Klaxons Replace Allen At New York Gig.... Pop star Lily Allen disappointed crowds of fans in New York City on Thursday when she pulled out of a gig at the last minute - and was replaced by British band Klaxons. The Smile singer was expected to perform in Brooklyn, but cancelled moments before the concert was due to begin. But luckily for promoters, the Golden Skans hitmakers - who were guest DJs on the night - were able to step in for Allen.Klaxons keyboardist James Righton admitted the crowd were more than a little surprised to see the trio take the stage in her place. He says, "It was a packed crowd of people expecting Lily Allen and all they got was us!" Klaxons, The Rapture, Dinosaur Jr and Annuals are offering their time to support indie radio by performing a free concert. The bands have agreed to back the Free Yr Radio campaign in the US.Other bands taking part include The Ponys, Tapes 'N Tapes, Long Winters, Voxtrot and Rogue Wave.
