Lily Allen spoken about her miscarriage for the first time in an interview with Gratzia magazine.
Speaking to the publication, she described the ordeal as "the worst time of my life" and held nothing back as she confessed; "I couldn’t even compute the emotions going through my head, but I was having to put out a press release about my miscarriage! I didn’t know what was happening to me. I just didn’t deal with it at all. I didn’t even start beginning to deal with it until the baby’s due date. Then it just hit me like a house collapsing."
She first found out she was expecting two years ago with her then boyfriend Ed Simons and she admits that she was initially thrilled by the news of bringing a new life into the world.
After the event, Lily sought therapy to help her cope with her loss, and she believes it really helped her move on; "I have therapy on and off, but at that time it really helped me," she says. "I still get sad. I still think. I don’t mark [what would have been] my baby’s birth but it’s always there. It changed a lot."
