Leona Lewis has blasted members of her family who turned to crime - because she saw the misery it caused for victims.The Bleeding Love hitmaker, who has 60 cousins in her extended family, praises her parents for bringing her up properly - and not letting her mix with relatives who have been to jail.The singer's cousin led a gang that raped an Australian tourist in 1996, and an uncle of hers went to prison for robbery.She says, "There are bad people in my family. But we didn't really mix with them. Bad things have happened and I guess if you grow up like that it's not so hard to make the wrong choices."But I never thought like that. I saw the pain that someone else's badness caused for other people. You have to think and make your own mind up. It shouldn't be this thing that you grow up in a bad area and so therefore you have to turn out a certain way. “I guess I was lucky to have parents who were determined to bring up their children properly. It was very important in our family that we behaved well and worked hard."
