Lenny Kravitz was inspired by his lonely recording sessions in the Bahamas, because the quiet time brought him closer to God.
The rocker spent two years on and off recording his new album, Black White America, in a remote studio near the beach, while he lived alone with his dog in an Airstream trailer.
He says, "I spent a good part of two years down there... There's about 400 people in my town.
"I spent a lot of time alone and I woke up one day and this was a first for me; I realised that I was alone but I wasn't lonely.
“Something had shifted and I was really just communicating with God and listening to myself... and I just became comfortable.
"There's something to be said for accepting one's self."
