Kylie Minogue has appealed to fans to donate to the flood relief effort in her native Australia, insisting her "heart aches" for the victims of the deluges.
Severe downpours have been battering the country since December and the state of Queensland has been largely submerged by the flood waters, with the conditions now spreading to neighbouring Victoria.
Thousands of residents have been forced to flee their homes, and the death toll stands at at least 25. Minogue, who grew up in Melbourne, has been left stunned by the natural disaster - and is asking her Twitter.com followers to donate to the government's crisis fund.
In a post on her Twitter.com page, she writes, "My heart aches. Send some much needed support for the devastating Queensland floods. www.qld.gov.au/floods/donate.html."
