The Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts kicked his drug habits during the 1970s after bandmate Keith Richards staged an mini-intervention in the studio.
Watts struggled with his own demons throughout the making of the group's 1978 record Some Girls but the rocker admits he was motivated to clean up his act after Richards approached him out of concern for his long-term health.
He tells the BBC: "I was lucky that I never got hooked, but I went through a period of taking heroin. I fell asleep on the floor (during the recording of Some Girls) and Keith woke me up and said, 'You should do this when you're older'.
"Keith telling me this! But it stuck and I just stopped along with everything else."
