Marc Jacobs considered suing Justin Bieber over allegations the pop star's new perfume bottle was copied from the fashion designer's Lola fragrance.
The Baby hitmaker recently launched a perfume called Someday for his female fans and the scent is sold in a bottle adorned with overlapping red and pink hearts.
Many fans have remarked on the similarities to Jacobs' popular Lola perfume, and the designer himself has confirmed he had a meeting with bosses at Coty, the fragrance company behind his scents, about the issue.
But Jacobs decided against taking legal action over Bieber's product.
He tells WWD today, "We just had a conversation about it. Coty said, 'Do we sue them?' and I said, 'You know what? Let everyone else say what they want.'
"I received Google (Alerts) about people saying it was derivative. We're not going to do anything about it...
"I look around the room and I look at the work we've done and a quote I always bastardise but I really believe in, is something (Coco) Chanel said: 'He who insists on his own creativity has no memory'."
