Jonathan Ross might has angered the public recently, but it seems he is still good enough to win a prestigious award in recognition of his services to music broadcasting.
The star looks set to be honoured with 2009’s Music Industry Trusts' Award for his "hugely influential" role in introducing new artists to the public.
Speaking to BBC News, the 48-year-old described the prize as "an incredible honour from an industry that I have always loved. Music has always played a large part in my life and it's been a privilege to not only present most of my musical heroes but to give a leg up to the next generation."
Previous recipients of the prize include Sir Elton John, Kylie Minogue and Lucian Grainge, the head of Universal Music Group.
