Legend Praying For West....

R&B singer John Legend is praying his close friend Kanye West will have the strength overcome the tragedy of his mother Donda's death to continue with his music career.Dr. Donda West died in Los Angeles on Saturday (10Nov07) following possible complications arising from cosmetic surgery.The Get Lifted star - who is also a longtime collaborator of West's - is the latest celebrity to offer his condolences to the Gold Digger hitmaker, and took the opportunity to pay tribute to the 58-year-old for her success as a scholar.He says in a statement: "Dr. West wasn't just the mother of a superstar. She was an accomplished, successful, beautiful woman in her own right."She raised and nurtured a brilliant son with the strength and resilience to follow his dreams and to turn tragedy to triumph. I pray that he continues to stay strong during these trying times."Dr. West's funeral will reportedly be held in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma - where she graduated from Douglass High School in 1967 - once her body is released by the Los Angeles County Coroner's office. An autopsy performed on West's remains on Tuesday (13Nov07) was ruled inconclusive and experts are now relying on the results of extensive toxicology tests to reveal the cause of death.
