John Legend in song-stealing lawsuit
John Legend is at the centre of a song-stealing lawsuit.
It is claimed by an unknown hopeful, Anthony Stokes that the R&B star ripped off a song he had over as a demo.
In a lawsuit, filed earlier in the week and obtained by TMZ.com, the songwriter reveale he gave the tape to Legend in 2004 after a concert.
Legend reportedly promised to listen to the song but never got back to Stokes, who forgot all about his meeting with the star until he heard the track Maxine's Interlude in 2006.
The songwriter insistes the track is very similar to his song Where Are You Now? from his demo.
Stockes is demanding unspecified damages.
