Joe Budden has dismissed rumours his right arm has been left in a sling following a recent clash with rap rival Raekwon, insisting the Wu-Tang Clan star had nothing to do with his latest injuries.
The Pump It Up hitmaker claimed last weekend (08Aug09) he suffered a black eye after allegedly being beaten up by a member of Raekwon's entourage backstage at the Los Angeles stop of the Rock The Bells tour.
But Budden appeared to be more badly injured from the fight than previously thought when he took to the stage in New York on Wednesday night (12Aug09) with his right arm in a sling.
The New Jersey native alluded to the altercation with the Wu-Tang Clan when he told the crowd, "I got a bad arm. My shoulder's bad."
However, Budden's manager Crystal Isaacs tells the New York Times the rapper dislocated his shoulder in a separate incident on Wednesday morning and not in the alleged attack.
The feud between the two MCs' crews began in May (09) when Budden made disparaging comments about Method Man after he was placed below the Wu-Tang Clan star in a fan survey by
Vibe magazine to find the Best Rapper Ever.
