James Taylor to perform for President Obama

James Taylor, Lyle Lovett and The Band Perry are set for a career milestone on Monday by performing for US President Barack Obama.

The stars will stage a show in the East Room of the White House in Washington, D.C. for an hour-long TV special, Country Music: In Performance at the White House.

Kris Kristofferson, former Hootie & the Blowfish star Daris Rucker and singer Dierks Bentley will also play at the gig, which is due to air on PBS on Wednesday.

Obama is set to enjoy a musical Christmas - Justin Bieber, Jennifer Hudson and Cee Lo Green will perform for the leader in December at the annual concert Christmas in Washington.
