James Brown's widow insists her 2001 marriage to the Godfather Of Soul will stand up in court because the man she was wed to when she exchanged vows with the late hitmaker was an illegal polygamist.Tami Rae Brown's legal ties to the late soul man have been in question since her husband died on Christmas Day last year (25Dec06), after it was claimed their marriage was invalid.But Tami Rae says, "They say that I was married before, but actually that marriage wasn't legal because that man was married to other women at the time."He was a practising Muslim polygamist. So actually it was an illegal marriage from the beginning."James Brown's estate also contested Tami Rae's son, James Jr., was the soul legend's offspring - but the backing singer insists she'll be validated in court.
