Jamelia 'Saved' By Brit Nomination.... British singing star Jamelia has credited her Brit Award nomination with rescuing her musical career.The singer, who was nominated for Best British Female, was worried her time as a pop star was over - but admits having her talents recognised by industry figures was "an enormous boost".She says, "Being nominated for a Brit meant so much to me."You can't help being worried when you read all these things saying that you've been dropped or horrible rumours that your album is in some bargain bucket."So I felt an enormous sense of relief about being nominated, it made me feel more secure."In October (06), Jamelia's boyfriend Darren Byfield was reported to have slept with a model behind her back, and the singer concedes the award nomination helped her to cope with her personal lows of 2006 too: "It was an enormous boost for my self esteem and it showed me that despite everything that happened last year, the voting panel has judged me to be one of the top five artists in this country. It's amazing."
