Incarcerated rapper Ja Rule has been sentenced to an additional 28 months behind bars for failing to file a number of income tax returns.
Last month, Ja Rule began a two-year prison term after he was convicted of weapons charges stemming from a 2007 arrest in New York.
And on Monday a New Jersey judge handed the troubled hip-hop star a second legal blow by ordering the I'm Real hitmaker to serve an additional two years and four months in a federal prison after he was found guilty of neglecting to pay taxes on $3 million (£1.88 million) worth of earnings accrued from 2004 to 2006.
The star, real name Jeffrey Atkins, must also pay $1.1 million (£687,500) in unpaid taxes.
