Quite how Ellen DeGeneres blagged herself a place on the American Idol judging panel was always a bit of a mystery to me but it looks like she's finally listened to me after deciding to leave because the job didn’t “fit” her.
"A couple months ago, I let… the American Idol producers know that this didn't feel like the right fit for me," Ellen said. She admitted that although she “loved discovering, supporting and nurturing young talent, it was hard for me to judge people and sometimes hurt their feelings.”
Rumour has it that Latino lovely Jennifer Lopez is poised to take her place - regardless of that fact that no one has actually confirmed the news yet, it is believed that the deal has already been done!
The producers will also have to fill the empty Simon Cowell-shaped seat who left the show after nine series to focus on other projects.
