Gregg Allman is playing through pain as he tours Europe after undergoing a liver transplant. He says he feels like he's been hit 'with a sledgehammer.'
The Allman Brothers Band star went under the knife to battle his Hepatitis C last summer, but he ignored pleas for a long recovery and instead got back on the road.
Chatting about the operation, he tells Reuters: ""(It was) the most horrendous pain I have ever been through."
He is currently performing a string of dates with his band, but admits to be struggling at times.
Allman says: "I feel like someone hit me with a sledgehammer. But I'm alive."
The musician, 63, is expected to undergo more treatment after wrapping up the North American leg of the tour in September.
