Gavin DeGraw's brother has dismissed claims that the singer was drunk when her was brutally attacked in New York on Monday morning.
The Chariot songwriter was taken to hospital with concussion and a broken nose after he was assaulted by three men after a night out with friends at The Nation, a bar in Manhattan's Lower East Side that he co-owns with his brother Joey.
Initial reports said that DeGraw was intoxicated when the attack occurred and the star himself had fuelled the argument. He claims not to remember too much about the incident.
He tweeted: "I don't remember much. I only know I can recover from here."
Joey DeGraw has spoken out about the rumours, insisting his famous brother had 'nothing but cranberry juice to drink' when he met up with friends, according to the New York Post.
DeGraw was discharged from New York University Hospital on Tuesday afternoon after having surgery on his nose. He had been transferred to the University facility from Bellevue, where he was initally taken after the attack.
