Flaming Lips
The Flaming Lips became the latest band to face off with the elements during a concert in their native Oklahoma on Saturday after high winds and rain caused stage structural problems.
Just weeks after the members of Cheap Trick narrowly avoided injury when a stage collapsed at the Ottawa Bluesfest in Canada, the Flaming Lips' Tulsa Brady District Block Party was scrapped when a lighting rig was brought crashing down by storms.
No one was injured mainly because the stage had been cleared seconds before the incident.
Frontman Wayne Coyne tells NewsOK.com, "The Oklahoma wind and rain was a little bit more unpredictable than we had hoped, and we had a bad gust.
"The whole thing is shambolic and a bit dangerous and we were working to get as much off of the stage before we got hit with the second wave."
After the rig collapsed, the singer was seen onstage helping move equipment.
He later tweeted, "Thought we were gonna die!!!"
Coyne and his band are now trying to reschedule the show.
They weren't the only act caught out by a storm over the weekend - the Foo Fighters played an epic hits set to close the Lollapalooza festival in Chicago, Illinois in a torrential downpour on Sunday night.
