Etta James is not dead says her son
Etta James' son has dismessed reports that the ailing R&B singer has passed away.
The 73-year-old has been in and out of hospital in recent months to undergo treatment for leukaemia and was admitted to a medical centre in Calefornia in May adter she was diagnosed with the potentially fatal sepsis problem caused by a urinary tract infection.
A fake website make to look like TMZ.com appeared late on Wednesday and reported that the music icon had died.
The bogus news spread quickly across the internet and Twitter.
James' son Donto shot down the false claims on Thursday assuring fans that his mother is alive and well.
He tells the LA Times: ""She's fine. I just saw her last night and she was fine."
James' was also diagnosed with alzheimer's disease in 2009 and is being looked after at her home in Riverside California away from the spotlight.
