Emeli Sande, winner of the Brits Critics Choice Award 2012
The Scottish born singer has bagged herself the Critics Choice Brit Award for 2012.
She's known for her hit singles Heaven and Daddy and she recently appeared on Professor Green’s song Read All About It.
The 24 year old gave up studying medicine so that she could follow her dream and have a career in music.
She fought off competition from Maverick Sabre and Michael Kiwanuka to be crowned the Critics Choice.
In the past the prestigious accolade has been won by Adele, Florence and The Machine and most recently Jessie J.
She will pick up her Brit award at the ceremony on February 21 2012.
